REASI: District Police Reasi has intensified its crackdown on old, unsafe and unroadworthy vehicles across the district, challaning 388 vehicles and seizing 75 during the past five days as part of a major road safety enforcement drive.

The action aims to prevent mechanically defective, poorly maintained and unfit vehicles from endangering commuters and other road users. Police have stepped up checking to ensure compliance with prescribed safety standards and traffic regulations.

District Police Reasi has urged vehicle owners to maintain their vehicles in roadworthy condition and ensure that all mandatory documents, including valid fitness certificates and Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates, are in place.

Police cautioned that operating unsafe vehicles not only violates traffic regulations but also poses a serious risk to passengers, pedestrians and other motorists. Owners and drivers have been advised to rectify mechanical defects immediately and refrain from operating vehicles that are not fit for safe travel.

Reiterating that public safety remains its top priority, District Police Reasi said strict enforcement against traffic violations and unroadworthy vehicles would continue across the district.

The police have also appealed to the public to cooperate with enforcement teams, follow traffic rules and maintain their vehicles properly to make roads across Reasi safer for everyone.
